Terms
of sale

The plain version of what you agree to when you buy something here.

1. Who you are buying from

BEADista, a small handmade jewellery practice based in Hong Kong. Anything at all — an order, a delivery, a return, a question about these terms — goes to customer@beadista.com, and a person reads it.

2. Prices

3. Placing an order

Adding something to the basket and paying is an offer to buy. The sale is agreed when we email you to confirm the order, not at the moment the payment goes through.

Every piece is made by hand, so no two are identical — and the exact one in a photograph can already have sold. Where we know that, the piece says so before you buy: yours is strung fresh to the same design, the beads vary a little, and it is ready in one business day. Where we do not yet know it, we will tell you straight away and either make yours fresh, with your agreement, or refund you in full. There is no charge and no argument.

We may also decline an order that looks fraudulent, or one going to a country we cannot deliver to. See the shipping policy for where we send parcels and why some orders have a value cap.

4. What handmade means here

Every piece is strung by hand, one bead at a time. Colour, bead placement and finish vary a little from piece to piece and from the photograph on the screen you are reading this on. That variation is the work, not a defect. A clasp that fails or elastic that gives way is a defect, and the returns policy covers it.

Bracelets marked with a size are made to 16 cm or 20 cm as you choose. If you are between sizes, or buying as a gift, write and ask before ordering.

5. Paying

Pieces are made and posted once payment has cleared.

6. Delivery

Dispatch times, costs, destinations and order caps are all in the shipping policy, which forms part of these terms. Delivery estimates come from the carrier and are not promises. Risk in the goods passes to you when the parcel is delivered.

Where a country charges duty or tax on arrival, that is yours to pay, and the shipping policy names those countries plainly before you order.

7. Returns

Fourteen days to change your mind, and full cover if a piece arrives faulty. The detail is on the returns page, which also forms part of these terms.

8. Custom and bulk orders

Custom pieces, team orders and goodie bags are agreed by email first — quantity, colours, price and a date. A custom piece cannot be returned for a change of mind, since it exists because you asked for it. Ask for a sample before committing to a large order; we are glad to make one.

9. Wearing and looking after a piece

10. Our designs and photographs

The photographs, text and designs on this site are ours. Please do not copy them for commercial use. Share a photograph of something you bought, tag us, and enjoy yourself — that is not what this clause is about.

11. What we are responsible for

We are responsible for getting you what you ordered, in the condition described. If we get it wrong we will replace it or refund you. We cannot be responsible for losses beyond that — such as an event you were buying a gift for — and in any case our liability for an order is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Hong Kong law that cannot be signed away.

12. If something goes wrong between us

Write to customer@beadista.com first. We would far rather fix it than argue about it. These terms are governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Hong Kong courts have jurisdiction.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one on this page on the day you placed it, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
